The south like a long, slow demolition.
The sunken sun of the cornices under the putrid shadow of jasmine.
Dark rigor of light.
The air crumbles from the air, dissolving stone into dust at last.
Whose shadow, you ask, in the damp alleys of salt.
There is no one.
The night guards blind, extinguished ruins, molds of submerged moonlight.
The night.
The south.
